Hilliard Ladies Auxiliary Unit 614
On Saturday May 22nd, the U.S. Army Reserve and the American Legion Ohio 12th District held another ASBP blood drive for this year, once again at the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Whitehall. On this day, 81 people registered, and 51 pints were collected.
Both civilians and drilling National Guardsmen registering to donate, side by side, for our Armed Forces.
Sandy Reed, an AEP employee and staunch supporter, showing up to donate as always. Some folks display a remarkable shining spirit and commitment to help our military, no matter what is going on in their own lives. Sandy is one of those people.
The inimitable volunteers (and food providers) of Hilliard
Ladies Auxiliary Post 614 (and a couple of that post's Legionnaires that were thrown in for good measure).
An older Legionnaire supporting his post supporting
our troops. You're NEVER too old to donate...
Even the chow hall cooks who were preparing lunch for the
drilling reservists and national guardsmen took time out
to donate.
Mission accomplished, the ASBP crew loads up to rush their equipment (and precious collections) back to WPAFB for processing. The blood was flown out on Tuesday and in Iraq and Afghanistan by late Thursday night.
